Mission, Goals, Objectives and Strategies

Mission:
The Agriculture Institute of Florida is a united educational and communications resource addressing immediate and long-range issues of common concern.
 
 GOAL #1: To serve as a unified, credible source for contemporary and background industry information about agriculture.

Objectives: Collect timely information on issues relevant to Florida agriculture.

Strategy : Provide mechanisms to Florida agriculture and its publics for rapid and accurate dissemination of information, positions and issues.

Strategy : Establish an active, working information network of Ag Institute Board members to manage issues of immediate and long-range concern.

Strategy : Publish a regular newsletter.

 GOAL #2 : To provide a forum for identifying consensus and positions on industry issues.

Objectives : Conduct periodic meetings to discuss and agree on Ag Institute positions on issues of common concern.

Strategy : Hold a minimum of four meetings of the Agriculture Institute's Board of Directors per year.

Strategy : Through roundtable presentations and discussions, promote the exchange of information among Board members concerning their individual operations and the specific issues facing them.

Strategy : Develop a resource and information exchange program which will make materials available to agriculture spokespersons.

  GOAL #3 : To serve as a voice for agriculture's publics.

Objectives : Create opportunities to be heard by the media, the government and the general public.

Strategy : Conduct an annual survey of public opinion on issues affecting agriculture.

Strategy : Sponsor an issues/candidates forum when appropriate.

Strategy : Provide a variety of communications training opportunities for appropriate target audiences.

Strategy : Create new forums and explore new methods for the dissemination of agriculture's message.

Strategy : Establish a presence for the Ag Institute's message in appropriate venues.
